Things are looking up !
Tuesday, November 30, 2004
Heh... i've been kind of stressed out lately, but I guess that's typical at this time of the year...
but today I finally got my Poli 240 essay back (the Burke one that I complained about before)
I got 79%, which is an okay mark, but the highest mark was only an 83%!
I was really worried about it, since he said that the marks ranged from 45 to 83 (o_O). He made me wait for 15 minutes to get my essay back, too...
But I'm really happy with my mark... its definitely the biggest thing I had to do this term, and I did it relatively well (Yay !). I also got my Hist essay on the holocaust back today, and got an A on it. Wah, if I keep it up, I might actually have a shot of getting into Law ! (^O^)- w00t !
Finally it seems like I'm starting to get more consistent grades, with essays neway.
So right now, I'm very very...
happy... :p
On Sunday, I was in aberdeen and bought pretty much all of the candy canes that Sweet Factory had on display. I was saving them for Friday, but I just felt like giving them out today.
I haven't been in this good of a mood for a while :)

In other words, it's beginning to look a lot like christmas ! Everyone in our dorm is participating in Secret Santa ( there's only ~34 of us ), and in addition to getting a gift, secret santas have to decorate their person's door when they're not around. These little creations popped up in the last few days :
See that pink one in the top right corner ? Haha that was done for a guy's room... and frankly, he had it coming ( he crossdressed for halloween... of course thats gonna come back to haunt him later on ). That barbie thing on his door is actually a chocolate advent calendar, which is actually a really good idea (o_O) why didn't I think of that ?
This is the door I did for Adam. He's totally convinced that a girl decorated it for him .... i'll take that as a compliment (^_^)
And today I came home after a long talk with ICBC ( btw, its pretty much a sure thing that I won't have to pay for any damages, thank God ), and I came home to a nicely decorated door. Its blue and shiney (*o*)...
Arigato secret santa...
I gotta buy a gift for my secret santa person this weekend. We're exchanging presents next friday, after a formal christmas dinner (O__O)... hehe should be interesting...
Aiiii....i hafta start studying for finals already !

And now for something completely different !

Bleh, my blog has been so whiney / depressing lately... I need a change of pace.
Hehe this photo always makes me laugh (^__^)
... Cuz Mimi (my sister) is so GROSS in it ! mwahahahaha !
I dunno, at times like these I should really rely on my favorite verse:
" Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 4:6-7) ^_^
Yup... I need peace right now thats for sure.... i want my headache to go away too (-___-)
By the way, Schindler's List is a really good movie ( of course it's very graphic and violent, hence the R rating ). Europa Europa is MESSED UP. Don't watch unless you have to... it's one of "those" european movies (@_@)

This would be the 'kicker'... of a horrible, horrible week <:((
Monday, November 15, 2004
Wow. This was probably the worst week I've ever had... definitely the worst week of my university life.
Monday, worked like crazy finishing up my Poli Essay; Tuesday studied like crazy for my cpsc midterm; Wednesday wrote a probably mediocre midterm... finally got a decent night of sleep (prolly the best day of the week); Thursday got unlucky... cop pulls me over for not making a full stop at the stop sign on chancellor (went through it at 10km/h...) and gives me a 140 dollar ticket. Friday, worked on my polisci assignment and handed it in... at least the night was pretty fun...
And then Sunday:
Waiting on a green light to turn left from Oak Street to Park Drive. The light turns yellow, and two cars in the incoming lanes of traffic come to a stop. I start to angle my car left... by this time the light is already red. Then, Mr. Black Civic on the inside lane of incoming traffic decides to accelerate at this point of time instead of slow down.... so yah the rest isn't hard to figure out. He blows through the red light and smokes the driver side of my car.
The result is all this horrible, horrible damage that was inflicted on my poor, poor car:
ARRRRRRGH.... good as new a few hours before, now look at it !
And yah, in the third photo those are both of the airbags after they deployed....
Dumb thing punched me in the face and gave me a bloody nose...
Relatively Good News: I have the testimony of a witness who confirms that the black civic went through a red light. In other words, he's leaning towards my side, and to my knowledge, he's the only witness to the accident that offered to help.
Bad News: The guy who hit me is from Washington. This means 2 things - dealing with insurance will be a bit more complicated; and since he's from the States, theres a pretty good chance he's going to try to screw me over somehow. In all seriousness, he's way more likely to sue me for some personal injury than to apologize for running the red light and taking my car away from me. I'm not very happy about that.
Realistically: I'm really thankful that I wasn't hurt badly. I'm praying that the guy will be reasonable about the whole thing, and that he won't act like a jerk and bring this to court.
Hopefully things will work out for the best...
Yup yup... at the very least, this week has to be better than the last, right ?

Hours of sleep last night = 4 and a half ! ( @_@ )
Neh... its actually not that bad... i'm just so glad that stupid essay is done and over with...
I'd BETTER get a good mark on that thing, or else.... uh... i'll... get sad.....
Really really really looking forward to the weekend already..
The thursday off might be okay, but I have an assignment due on friday
School sucks, but as long as I keep my average up, I don't care (^o^) !

Just one of those weeks...

Bleh.... Polisci essay due in a week, and compsci assignment / midterm on the side...
I really hate writing these huge, profound essays about thinkers of the past, and having to spend countless hours looking for examples from modern times just to fulfill the secondary sources requirements.
I thought I was on track with this essay last week... but the truth is that I slacked off too much... if I don't follow my plan for the week I'm gonna be working 24/7 from Friday to Monday. It takes me forever to do this sort of thing... and I haven't really been able to focus all that well this year...
It's frustrating to think that after 3 years I still can't totally focus on my work, even for a couple of days... I keep eating up time thinking about other things. I need to mature a lot more if i'm going to keep up a decent average this year and have a shot at Law. Still, I want to find a better balance this year... first year I took school too seriously... second year, not serious enough :p.
I know most of you guys are just as busy / even more busy than me.... so pray for me and I'll pray for you (^o^) !
